Since 2020, Canal has also invited international structures. The idea is to federate: to offer these projects and supported artists renewed exposure in a common space-time. CN D is presenting an "online" version of Canal to provide artists with a broader platform for expression.Canal online is organised with the support of Caisse des Dépôts, the principal patron, and with the support of ONDA – Office national de diffusion artistique – as part of its program to support digital productions.

For the selected artist, this support takes the form of assistance with organisational structure, financial support and the provision of workspaces. It is aimed at emerging artists, offering them comprehensive support for the development of their practice, in addition to the services usually provided as part of residencies.

Open to the world and active both in France and internationally, the CN D goes beyond its own walls to offer mobile programmes. The CN D is part of European and international networks in order to promote exchanges and visibility through hosting international artists and developing educational projects. Some of the events created by the CN D are staged around the world, whilst others are developed with the guidance of the CN D’s teams.
