Annie Suquet invites us to discover some expressions of dance countercultures - emancipatory, provocative, playful, interactive - through two lectures. In this second part, we'll follow the multiple eruptions of “dancing communities”, from the beat movement of the 1950s to the late 1970s, in the wake of the hippy years. Along the way, Annie Suquet will discuss how the concerns at the heart of these dance insurrections are reactivated in certain practices closer to home. This conference follows on from the first part (6.04.25).
Annie Suquet’s conference echoes the publication of her book, Modernités critiques - Une histoire culturelle de la danse (1945-1980) on January 9, 2025 with CND Editions.
