A project aimed at developing an organic, dynamic dance style connected to the floor, encouraging the conscious use of weight, fluidity and an engaged physicality

Flavien Esmieu, a French dancer, performer and choreographer, is a graduate of the CNSMD in Lyon. He began his career with the Balletboyz company in London. After six years, he returned to France to work with the CCN Ballet de Lorraine in Nancy. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with various inspiring choreographers and performed on international tours in some of the world’s leading theatres. Flavien teaches contemporary dance classes, notably at the CCN – Ballet de Lorraine, the Compagnie Angelin Preljocaj, Theater Basel, New Adventures – Matthew Bourne, Compagnie Grenade, BalletBoyz… and leads workshops all over the world in London, Paris, Seoul, New York, Budapest, Basel, Nancy, … His choreographic approach centres on four main areas: Release technique, floorwork, improvisation and contact. As a freelance choreographer, he has undertaken several projects, notably creating dance for theatre productions in France and across Europe, as well as for various events.
