2027 Artist-in-Residence Program
Chatelet Art Nature Culture
France, Cuinzier
Application deadline
Overview of the structure(s)
Le Chatelet is an arts and culture center located in the rural town of Cuinzier, within the Charlieu-Belmont community of municipalities, in the Loire department.
This project was born out of a deep commitment to supporting creativity and exchange: two essential values that apply on an environmental scale, for both humans and non-humans. The goal is to foster social and intergenerational connections and to stimulate everyone’s creativity within a natural environment that respects biodiversity.
As a venue for artist residencies, Le Chatelet aims to provide spaces and opportunities for creative work dedicated to the performing arts.
We bring art and culture to underserved audiences in rural areas by building bridges between artists, local communities, and local governments, and by bringing together amateur and professional practices.
Description of the open call
The 2027 program for Le Chatelet in Cuinzier is currently being developed. Its mission is to bring a high-quality, multidisciplinary arts season to a rural setting by hosting artists in residence for creative periods in a rejuvenating countryside location, culminating in a performance in the Chatelet barn.
The association is actively working to secure financial support as a venue for artist residencies in the northern part of the Loire department, an area that currently has very few such facilities.
We provide access to art and culture for audiences in remote rural areas by building bridges between artists and the local public and local governments, and by bringing together amateur and professional practices.
