Female dancers’ hypermobility
With Anne Lafeuillade, massage therapist, physical therapist, and osteopath
While hypermobility affects the general population, it is more prevalent among women. Often confused with flexibility and valued in dance as an aesthetic quality, dancers themselves are largely unaware of it, and it requires specific work on the musculoskeletal system, as well as a more comprehensive approach to management.
The workshop will explore the definition and identification criteria for hyperlaxity, as well as best practices: we will cover practical exercises aimed at stabilization and also discuss stabilization tools (splints, tape, etc.) and strategies for maintaining good health.
