Teaching Dance: State Certification by Right
The program covers the fundamentals of pedagogy, the functional analysis of the body in dance movement, mastery of learning processes tailored to students’ ages and skill levels, mastery of the relationship with music, the pedagogy of technical training specific to each specialization, regulations governing dance instruction, and the professional status of dance teachers. Upon completion of this training, dance artists are automatically awarded the state-certified dance teacher diploma, upon presentation of a certificate confirming completion of the entire program and approval of their internship report. The internship report is a short written paper of about fifteen pages, based on research into a topic related to dance pedagogy. A faculty member provides guidance on its preparation throughout the program.
Publics
Dance artists who can demonstrate at least three years of professional experience with the Paris National Opera Ballet, the ballets of the Réunion des Opéras de France, the National Choreographic Centers, or companies in a Member State of the European Union or another State party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, the list of which is established by order of the Minister of Culture (Article L362-1 of the Education Code).
