Auditions and social media: tools and techniques for creating videos

12 trainees maximum

• Identify the key principles of audiovisual language and video content formats;
• Master the basic tools for producing short video clips, with or without a professional crew; 
• Analyze a job posting or audition announcement to tailor your digital presentation and application accordingly.

The workshop will take place in a dance studio equipped with professional gear (professional camera, camera stabilizer, smartphone stabilizer, light tubes, wireless lavalier microphones), and will include:

• A mix of theoretical instruction and hands-on exercises, including technical hands-on practice with the equipment;
• Discussions with experienced professionals.

Trainees may bring their own smartphones to work with.
Participants are asked to prepare a brief written presentation of their background prior to the training.  This presentation will serve as the basis for a video clip lasting approximately one minute.
To best prepare for the video shoots, participants are asked to think about the music tracks they’d like to use and to bring an outfit they can be filmed in, as well as any costumes and props they may wish to use for their projects.

Participants will leave the workshop with the videos they have created, which they are free to use as they wish. The course materials (PowerPoint presentation) will be emailed to participants after the workshop.

Please note that participants will need to bring their personal laptops on the workshop's fourth day in order to work on editing their content.

Trainer

Carine Loison

Co-founder of Moovance and Ongaeshi Studio, responsible for production and distribution. After gaining diverse experience in cultural communication, Carine Loison co-founded Ongaeshi Studio in 2020, followed by Moovance, a creative platform dedicated to dance, in 2021. Her career includes founding media outlets and arts organizations, with expertise in visual and audiovisual communication. As a production and distribution manager, she specializes in creating multimedia content and managing arts projects.

Morgan Eloy

Director, photographer, and editor at Moovance. Having always been passionate about images, Morgan Eloy began specializing in dance filmmaking in 2017 and co-founded Ongaeshi Studio in 2020. Dedicated to the dialogue that develops between the dancer and the camera during filming, he captures these shared moments to bring them to life beyond the present moment. Driven by a strong desire to create by combining the arts of dance, music, and video, he co-founded Moovance in 2021, a creative platform dedicated to dance. Through this platform, he has directed numerous dance short films, music videos, documentaries, and content for the platform’s social media channels.

France Travail covers the full cost of the training for registered participants.

• A self-assessment is conducted at the beginning and end of the training.
