Ten French organisations and six organisations from the Balkans (Bulgaria, Greece, North Macedonia, Slovenia) active in the field of dance are taking over three venues in Vitry-sur-Seine in Val-de-Marne: La Briqueterie CDCN, the MAC VAL, the Théâtre Jean Vilar and the cnd.fr, to showcase the work of 32 artistic teams they support. Two morning sessions will also be on offer.
By launching Canal, the CN D aims to make its resources available to the dance sector. Over two days, La Briqueterie CDCN, the MAC VAL and the Théâtre Jean Vilar are taken over by invited cultural institutions (CCNs, CDCNs, state-subsidised and national theatres, festivals, etc.). Since 2020, Canal has also been inviting international organisations; this year, the Balkans are in the spotlight. The aim is to offer, within a shared space and time, new visibility to projects (short excerpts, screenings, oral presentations, etc.) and to the artists they support. Canal creates spaces for exchange between artists and professional audience members.
