A roundtable which is part of the event “Danser, une façon de voir” (Dancing: A Way of Seeing), centered on Lisa Nelson’s Tuning Scores (Paris-Brussels, October 5-17, 2026), which was organized to mark the publication of the American choreographer’s book Living in the Composition: Dance as a Way of Seeing, translated into French by Contredanse.
This roundtable brings together Pascale Gille and Claude Boillet to discuss their project Store, and Myriam Van Imshoot and Anouk Llaurens to discuss Conversation in Vermont: Lisa Nelson and Replays, variations on Lisa Nelson’s Tuning Scores – two projects supported by the Aide à la recherche et au patrimoine en danse program (2019–2023). An important member of the Post-Modern Dance movement and a pioneer in improvisational practices, Lisa Nelson has been exploring for over forty years the relationship between perception, movement, and collective composition – between dancing and watching.
