Profesionnal workshop

Waacking is a dance born in LA clubs and created by the African-American and Latino gay community. Josépha Madoki will teach the basics of this technique and its codes, like punking or posing. Participants in the workshop will be given a free ticket to the special event “Le waacking mène la danse” in Célestins, Théâtre de Lyon on October 23.

Josépha Madoki, aka Princess Madoki, is an artistic director, choreographer and dancer. She has worked with artists like Damien Jalet, Wayne Mc Gregor, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Beyoncé, or Angélique Kidjo... A major figure in waacking, she is regularly invited to participate, teach and sit on international jury panels during international events. In 2016, she co-founded the Ma Dame Paris collective and created Waackez-vous Français ? and Oui, et Vous ?. in 2019, she created the All Europe Waacking Festival, an international Waacking dance festival in Paris and Moscow. With the Madoki company and her new piece D.I.S.C.O, Josépha Madoki continues to explore the full potential of waacking.
