Danse en amateur et Répertoire

The annual Danse en Amateur et Répertoire programme enables groups of amateur dancers all over France to work on an extract from a repertoire piece, a traditional or regional dance, with choreographers, professional dancers and notators. Some 130 dancers from eight regions are coming together this year in Besançon to present a year’s work. From Baroque dances to the Rite of Spring, from chansons de geste to traditional dance theatre (from Sumatra), from hip-hop to cross-generational works on passing time, this selection of dances forms a delightful, bracing, romantic, committed, living history of dance.
