Ève Couturier and Jean-Jacques Palix, sound artists, heirs to the experimental practices of Pierre Schaeffer’s GRM at Radio France, met in the early 1980s when Radio Nova was founded by Jean-François Bizot, at a time when a lot of FM free radios stations were appearing. They went on to create an independent structure, ‘Tapage Atypique’, before launching the label Song Active, for which Vincent Ségal recorded in his youth. Their artistic collaboration has expanded to include the creation of sound and music scores for the choreographers Daniel Larrieu, Brigitte Farges, Odile Duboc and Alain Buffard. Drawn to sound art installations and more generally sound environments, they have also composed for video artists, docmentary makers and design and advertising agencies.

For this event, they are creating two installations as a tribute to Alain Buffard, and to their personal and artistic friendship.

The music room: a subjective flux, an imaginary mix, an echo of musical references that the choreographer was fond of will be played continuously in Studio 10.

A suspended murmur: in the monumental staircase of the CN D, an original composition featuring the voice of Alain Buffard, recorded in 1988 for Anima, a choreography by Daniel Larrieu.
