Exhibition

Choreographies:
drawing, dancing, 16th-21st centuries

19.04 > 21.09.25

Musée des Beaux-Arts et d'Archéologie de Besançon

This exhibition, devoted to the relationship between dance and drawing, looks at the graphic practices of dancers and choreographers: from rehearsal notebooks to large-format scores, from the drawings of ballet masters to personal experiments in notation, the exhibition examines the way in which drawing can be a constitutive part of a choreographic practice, in a creative process, in the transmission to performers, or in an approach to disseminate or even preserve the dance.

The project is the result of a research program conducted at the Institut national d'histoire de l'art in collaboration with the Bibliothèque nationale de France and the CN D.
