Giant workshop
Gaga by Thibaut Eiferman
Duration: 1 hour
From 16 years old
Tickets

Gaga is the movement research developed by Ohad Naharin over many years, alongside his work as choreographer and artistic director of the Batsheva Dance Company. Gaga classes are based on deep listening to the body and physical sensations. Instructions are deployed to heighten sensitivity and further amplify sensations, and rather than moving from one instruction to another, information is layered, to create a multi-sensory, physical and stimulating experience. Within this shared inquiry, the improvisational nature of the exploration allows each participant to forge very personal connections with the Gaga. Classes offer a workout that engages movement, speed, and effort while traversing additional spectrums. Participants awaken numbed areas, increase habit awareness and improve movement efficiency within layered tasks, and are encouraged to connect with pleasure in moments of effort.

How can we honor them? These questions will be explored by dancing, reading texts, looking at images, rolling on the floor, practicing tactile oracles, and a thousand other things.

The mythology of the dancing gods, Afro-Brazilian dances by Washington Timbó
Duration: 1h30
Tickets

This dance workshop on the mythology of the Orixás introduces you to the movements and rhythms associated with the Afro-Brazilian deities of Candomblé. Each Orixá embodies a force of nature or a human aspect of love, war or justice (earth, water, fire, air), and its dance is a means of spiritually connecting with this energy. Through traditional dance techniques and song, participants learn to express the unique qualities of each Orixá, while exploring the culture and symbols associated with these deities. This workshop offers immersion in a world where there are many environmental benefits, including a deeper connection with nature. The result is a heightened awareness of the beauty and fragility of our natural environment.
