La Halle aux cuirs

From her dance and stage practice, Manon Santkin performs, composes, thinks, advises, writes and devises pedagogical tools. A graduate of PARTS in 2004, she completed a master’s degree in current performative practices at DOCH (Stockholm University of the Arts) in 2015. Santkin has collaborated with choreographers such as Mette Ingvartsen, Salva Sanchis, Sidney Leoni, Eleanor Bauer, Cecilia Lisa Eliceche, Daniel Linehan, Leslie Mannès and Fabrice Samyn. Her artistic reflections have also been nourished by her interactions with sound artist Peter Lenaerts, designer Nicolas Couturier and stylist Jennifer Defays. She has accompanied several generations of students as a tutor at the PARTS school (2018 - 2022), where she teaches and assists students’ personal creations. Santkin is interested in the ways our capacities for attention, imagination and movement influence one another.

“Combining my own practices with those derived from creations with Mette Ingvartsen, we’ll move through various movement situations where the senses, imagination and image form an expressive continuum. Using scenes and/or choreographic strategies from Mette Ingvartsen’s work as examples, we’ll generate new scene-situations based on the participants’ own experiences and/or inventions of the moment. We’ll be talking about evoking, embodying, describing, transforming one thing into “something else”, transforming the audience (why not?)... To do this, we’ll be putting our various kinetic and linguistic capacities to work.”
