“This workshop will focus on themes that run through my choreographic work: What memories of dance do our bodies carry? What memories do we choose to summon when we create? Through physical practices that place the body in different registers of intensity, we will explore states of letting go that are conducive to opening up the imagination. How does the body open up paths other than thought to construct meaning? We will also explore the form of the portrait and self-portrait through a writing practice derived from my latest piece, Histoire(s) décoloniale(s). How can we tell our stories by bringing to life the links between small and large-scale history?” Betty Tchomanga
