In her solo Nebula, Vania Vaneau imagines a post-apocalyptic world. A charred landscape from which primal gestures are reborn: digging, braiding, pouring, weaving. Inspired by animism, cosmogony, healing rituals and ancestral gestures, the choreographer composes a cosmogony in movement, where gestures become cycles, transformation and new beginnings. Human figures become vibrant matter, traversed by the elements and ancient memories. Coal, copper, optical lenses, incense, wickerwork, hybrid objects, light and smoke become partners in a slow metamorphosis. The stage becomes a threshold, liminal space between visible and invisible worlds, a space where boundaries are blurred. Here, the body is transformed, traversed by mineral and celestial forces, open to the powers of earth and sky. Between fall and elevation, opacity and glimmers, Nebula sketches the contours of a new horizon in the process of being reinvented, where gestures try to reconnect to the living, the non-human, the invisible and the deep forces of matter.
