Teacher training for choreographers

The programme covers the fundamentals of teaching, the analysis of the body in dance movement, mastery of the learning processes according to age and level of pupil, mastery of the relationship to music, teaching of technique according to option, practical training (to be written up in a training course report), and the regulations pertaining to the teaching of dance and the professional status of teachers. At the end of this training course, dancers and choreographers will be awarded the state diploma for dance teachers on presentation of a certificate of attendance for the entire course (issued by the educational department) from their DRAC.

 

Who it’s aimed at

Dancers and choreographers who have been working for at least three years for the Ballet de l’Opéra National de Paris and the ballet companies of the theatres of the Réunion des Théâtres Lyriques de France and for national dance centres. Participants must obtain prior authorisation to enrol confirming that they fulfil the necessary requirements to do training from the regional directorate of the Affaires Culturelles of their region.
