The two artists are teaming up to offer a course divided into two parts: an hour dedicated to voguing with Giselle Revlon and an hour dedicated to twerk with Aoki Da Snake.
Voguing
Giselle Revlon offers a one-hour intensive course focusing on performance, precision and the authenticity of voguing.
Giselle Revlon
As legendary dancer and performer on the international ballroom scene, Giselle Revlon embodies excellence and artistic rigour, and is an influential member of the House of Revlon.
Twerk
The twerk, often reduced to its media virality, is in reality a practice rooted in Afro-diasporic cultures, based on precise dynamics of isolation, rebound and anchoring to the ground. This one-hour class aims to explore the twerk as a body language in its own right, at the crossroads of clubbing, trance and performance. We aim to deconstruct the stereotypes associated with this dance to reveal its technicality. We will focus on deepening body awareness around the pelvis, hips and centre, we will work on endurance, isolation and coordination in relation to rhythms, and reflect on the performative and choreographic uses of twerking in contemporary practice.
Aoki Da Snake
Aoki is a dancer, choreographer and performer, who started out in hip-hop and dancehall at a very early age, before specialising in pole dance, floorwork and twerking. Former strip club dancer and renowned vixen (Miss Vixen France 2020), she has worked with some of the most famous French rap artists and has namely performed alongside international artists such as Snoop Dogg. She teaches and choreographs across Europe, combining sensuality, technique and powerful stage performance.
