Laura Garby

3.11 > 15.12.25

CN D à Lyon

Laura Garby invites participants to immerse themselves in the choreographic world of François Malkovsky, a pioneer of modern dance, in the tradition of Isadora Duncan's free dance. An opportunity to discover a dance that is unpretentious, fluid, expressive and musical, and to experiment - with the ‘laws of movement’-effortless, tension-free gestures, while questioning what makes this dance ‘free’ or liberating.

Laura Garby

Laura Garby is committed to sharing her joy of dancing and the subtleties of Duncan-Malkovsky free dance, which she has known and practised since early childhood (taught directly by Annie Garby, Chris Muhlebach, Vanina Guibert and Chantal Gache). She nourishes her dance practice with reflexivity and creativity. She holds a degree in anthropology (Lyon 2) and a DESU in dance and somatic education (Paris 8). Motivated by encounters with different audiences, she works (with the DALGA association) in psychiatry, addiction treatment and with young children in nurseries. She is currently co-creating and performing in two choreographic pieces: Traversée (Compagnie Kôré 2024) and Passages (Dalga & Tohu Bohu 2025).
