By creating, she transmits; by dancing, she liberates. Nadéeya GK, choreographer and pedagogue, proposes an approach to transmission based on connections between hip hop dance (especially house dance) and traditional African dance forms, building on her artistic research, embodied archives, stories, and experiences. Her approach is based on three axes: embodied memory, rhythmic vibration, and the circle. By dancing, we understand, connect, and anchor our knowledge in movement while also exploring palpable continuities between Africa and its diasporas.
