It is essentially pointed on the body’s movement possibilities, its super physical, it requires a lot of resistance from the dancer, as a way of working the supports, and communication between the levels (floor, medium and jump) as well as the relationship between bodies and space. Focusing on practical exercises of improvisation, instant composition and performance, through an energetic approach of traditional Mozambican dance focused on own presence.
Ídio Chichava
Ídio Chichava is a Mozambican choreographer, dancer and artistic director. He began dancing in 2000 in a traditional Mozambican dance group, later moving into contemporary dance through Culturarte and Danças na Cidade. From 2002 onwards, he expanded his work with a multitude of African and European choreographers. He attended courses at the School of P.A.R.T.S, years later, he joined the Kublai Khan Investigations company in France. Back in his country, he founded in 2012 the artistic company Converge+.
