Volmir Cordeiro
Dancer, choreographer, Volmir Cordeiro holds a doctorate in dance from the University of Paris 8, and he also teaches in various institutions around the world. He combines a choreographic repertoire with a consistent reflective practice. His pieces Ciel, Rue, Trottoir and Abri range from solos to in-situ and group performances. He is the author of Ex-Corpo, a litterary work dedicated to marginal figures in contemporary dance and to the notion of the artist & researcher. His company named Donna Volcan sees the volcanic material as the foundation of creation: earth, fire, air and the vital impulse.
