Emmanuelle Huynh is a dancer, choreographer and teacher. She is committed to making pieces from different world coexist, combining contemporary dance, contemporary music and visual arts, while multiplying collaborations with people from other disciplines. With visual artist Jocelyn Cottencin, she has created sensitive, filmed and danced portraits of the cities of New York, Saint-Nazaire, Houston and São Paulo. She has also designed performances that reach out to audiences beyond the stage, in museums, heritage sites and in the countryside. She directed the CNDC Angers between 2004 and 2012, and since 2016, she has been head of the Dance-Performance Workshop at the Beaux-Arts de Paris.
“Unedansecontinue (2025) is the title of my next piece. In this project, I’m looking for the geological stratum that underpins my work, which has persisted and continued since 1995, and which oscillates between a conceptual desire and an organic, vital overflow. In terms of space, this translates into a constant back-and-forth between the theatrical stage and the in situ of the outdoors and nature. I’ll share these questions with participants, along with choreographic excerpts deployed from Múa (1995) to Hô `nhay múa danser Hô `une indépen danse (2024). We’ll be experimenting with these dances both in the studio and on the riverbanks, the marketplace, and tree-lined spaces.” Emmanuelle Huynh
