Joy workshop
“The workshop will explore what lies at the root of happiness. What does a happy body look like? What triggers laughter, and can we provoke it? I’ll be sharing and playing with practices that may or may not bring out joy in ourselves and others. These times of research and group experimentation will combine voice and movement, placing connection at the center. Opening up a space of freedom where the bizarre, the disproportionate and the unexpected can flourish, unfolding a polyphony of laughter. My approach will draw on techniques of contact, mime, farce and improvisation. The challenge will be to unite laughter and dance in acts of collective resistance.”
