Kossivi Sénagbé Afiadegnigban

08.11.24 — 10:00

CN D Lyon

By awakening and stimulating the spinal column, a source of energy and connection, participants will be introduced to a hybrid contemporary dance drawing on the Edan and Sakpata initiation dances of Togo. In the process, they’ll work on the notion of grounding, drawing on the energy of heaven and earth to nourish their movements.

Kossivi Sénagbé Afiadegnigban

Born into an animist family, Kossivi Sénagbé Afiadegnigban began dancing at vodou ceremonies and rituals, where traditional rhythms, songs and dances are intertwined. He trained at Germaine Acogny's École des Sables in Senegal, where he obtained diplomas in ‘Traditional and Contemporary African Dance’ and ‘The Art of Teaching Dance’. In 2019, Kossivi Sénagbé Afiadegnigban became a companion of the Roubaix CCN, where he created several choreographic pieces and worked with ESMD students.
