A class based on a traditional Maghreb dance named alaoui, a vivacious war dance which we will put in perspective with contemporary dance techniques.

Filipe Lourenço

Filipe Lourenço is a Portuguese and French choreographer who trained in Maghreb folkloric dance for 15 years. In addition to dancing, he has been playing the Oud (the Arabic luth) with the El Albaycin orchestra (an Arabic-Andalusian music ensemble) for 12 years. He trained in the Angers CNDC and has since worked with choreographers like Catherine Diverrès, Georges Appaix, Nasser Martin-Gousset, Michèle Noiret, Olivier Dubois, Christian Rizzo and Boris Charmatz. In 2014, he founded the Plan-K association, and created his first show, Homo Furens, in 2016, then Pulse(s) in 2018, and Gouâl, his latest piece.
