Robin Joly

21 > 24.11.22

CN D Pantin

A workshop organized during the “Déplier baroque” event.

This workshop invites us to explore and experiment with the practices of dance and improvisation in the Renaissance. We will work on tempo, dynamics, sequencing and articulations to help build the connection between music and dance. Then, we will work on improvisation and attempt to come up with several sequences, while respecting the adequate rhetoric for this particular repertory.

Robin Joly is a musician and choreographer with a holistic approach of the artform: studying, researching, teaching and performing all work in sync. His teaching and research focus on Renaissance violin players, and he has performed in various venues and contexts and collaborated with several institutions. He performs with the Outre Mesure Company, which is his main focus.
