Cold Song

Cold Song is a poem adapted from a performance text by Daniel Larrieu about his experience of the “AIDS years.” Seeing himself as part of the last generation to have lived by the motto “let’s live joyfully, let’s live in secret,” the choreographer reflects on the multifaceted violence of that period and the long silence that followed. Accompanied by drawings and photographs, this book explores the extreme notions of living with and dying with, as well as the intertwining of the worlds of the living and the dead. The time has come to bear witness to the “darkening” of his life.
