La Passion des possibles

Lia Rodrigues, 30 ans de compagnie

Lia Rodrigues occupies an important place on the French choreographic scene, both iconoclastic and committed, from her first steps in the 1980s in Maguy Marin's company to this 2021 season, when the Festival d'Automne in Paris is saluting her thirty-year career by programming several of her pieces. This book, based on original texts, dialogues and interviews with her close collaborators, recounts her major artistic journey, three decades during which the Brazilian choreographer has played with the boundaries of creation, improvisation and pedagogy. Nourished by her readings and artistic encounters, her creative itinerary is inseparable from her social action, from the arts center and the Free School of Dance that she founded in partnership with the NGO Redes, in the favela of Maré, a neighborhood in the northern suburbs of Rio de Janeiro. This book immerses us in the creative and tumultuous daily life of Lia Rodrigues and her company.

A passionate and collective work, to celebrate 30 years of activity of the company
