Françoise Adret, soixante années de danse

This book of interviews tells the story of Françoise Adret and her outstanding contribution to French dance for over 50 years, as a dancer, choreographer, ballet master, dance company director, inspector of dance with the Ministry of Culture, and teacher. In the 1950s her path crossed that of prominent figures from the choreographic world of that time, particularly Serge Lifar.

In the 1980s she completed a valuable inventory for the Ministry of Culture, bringing to light a whole generation of choreographers and dancers who are now in the spotlight.

Finally, she was one of the first women in the history of contemporary dance to hold a position usually reserved for men – company director.
