How can we afford to fail, to get things wrong, to be confused or stuck? Artistic research, as it is detached from the imperatives connected to producing a piece, can be a space and time that lets us err. How can we create a context that frees artists from the injunction of success and efficiency? Can doing research without setting achievable goals be a viable political project?
