The relationship to rhythm and music seems obvious, but what is the fundamental basis of this intimacy? How does the body organise itself in the rhythmicity of movement? Rhythm is born from the way we inhabit movement, in a state of complete receptivity from head to toe, an open perception of the relationship to the ground, to gravity and to the involvement of the body in space. Using the tools of AFCMD (Functional analysis of the body in the dance movement), Patricia Karagozian and Valentine Vuilleumier alternate their proposals to pass on awareness of notions, knowledge and principles that allow us to go beyond preconceived ideas about the meaning of rhythm.
