Réciprocité

11.2025 > 06.2026

Réciprocité aims to share dance with everyone, to provide a transformative experience through dance, and to establish long-term outreach projects within social, educational and health organisations.

Cultural rights, participation in cultural practices for all, and cooperation are at the heart of civil society's thinking and permeate the choreographic sector. In response to these issues and in order to produce resources and methodologies, in 2025 the CND is launching a new artistic and cultural mediation and education programme: Réciprocité.

Based on innovative cooperation and participation methodologies, Réciprocité provides a framework in which each dance project will be developed with and for the participants and professionals from the organisations that support them. Attention will be at the heart of the projects: attention to the participants and their support staff, to the context of the organisations, to the projects of the invited artists, to the desires expressed or in the making, to the relationships that are formed and to the ephemeral community that is created.

Paying attention and taking care of contexts and people allows us to create ecosystems where dance projects can take on a more permanent place, with more lasting effects for everyone. Through its practices combining physical and psychological, intimate and collective, artistic and aesthetic experiences, dance promotes encounters and understanding of otherness, the construction of a common meaning and mutual respect, critical thinking and the power to act.

The terms and conditions for each project will be jointly developed with participants and professionals from each organisation, based on a common framework that includes opportunities for meeting and discussion, project development, choreography and dance mediation workshops, cultural outings, and opportunities for groups to meet.

The first experimental season will take place in Seine-Saint-Denis, home to the Centre National de la Danse.
