Twinning between the town of Cergy and CN D

As part of a cultural twinning scheme with the priority neighbourhood of Horloge-Axe majeur in the town of Cergy (an initiative of the Île-de-France Regional Prefecture), the CN D has, over a three-year period, run a range of activities aimed at young people and local residents: the ‘Caravane Kids’ and ‘360°: Stories of Dance in a Day’ programmes in five primary schools, one lower secondary school and one upper secondary school; the ‘Assemblé pour des habitantes et habitants’ programme; career discovery days for 16–25-year-olds; initiatives with universities and higher education institutions; and audience development programmes. Resource-building and training initiatives were also organised in partnership with Visages du monde and the Cergy Dance Training Centre, including its ‘Cultural Ambassadors in Hip-Hop Dance’ course. After three years (2022–2024), the cultural twinning programme will come to an end. It will continue through initiatives with partners in Cergy with whom the CN D has developed long-term collaborations.
