This accompaniment corresponds, for the chosen artist, to a help in structuring, a financial support and the provision of work spaces. It is aimed at emerging artists, in order to offer them a global support for the development of their activity, in addition to the services usually offered for residencies. The artists benefit from a co-production contribution for two distinct projects, privileged access to the rehearsal studios, technical support, as well as privileged access to the media library, professional resources, regular training for the dancer and other training offers.
Habib Ben Tanfous and Anna Massoni are currently artists supported by CN D.
Habib Ben Tanfous
Habib Ben Tanfous is a choreographer and performer based in Brussels. His career began with hip hop, an art form he discovered at the age of 15 and in which he is fully involved. He was part of the IMPULSION and The Revolutionary collectives, experiences that forged his artistic identity. In 2019, Habib Ben Tanfous begins a turning point in his career. He was selected for the Tremplin Hip Hop #3 programme and at the same time began the Higher Certificate in Dance and Choreographic Practices at Charleroi Danse, a course that enabled him to structure his artistic practice. At the same time, he explored documentary approaches and founded the FINEK company with Elisa Firouzfar. The company's name comes from their first work, FINEK, a piece for five dancers presented at the Festival Courants d'Air (2018) and at Cocq'Arts (2019). Through this creation, they are developing a choreographic and aesthetic language prone to hybridity of genres, proposing singular and composite forms, reflecting the complexity of belonging and personal narratives. In 2023, he created and performed the solo Ici je lègue ce qui ne m'appartient pas, in which he examines his family heritage. Using a number of songs and visual archives - his family loves to take photos - he studies the postures of his parents, cousins and ancestors, following in the footsteps of what constitutes him in part, in full or not at all. Between 2019 and 2025, Habib Ben Tanfous will be pursuing his reflections on social issues, in particular identity, masculinity and colonial and patriarchal domination, in collaboration with artists such as Olivia Grandville, Adeline Rosenstein, Anne-Cécile Vandalem, Ilyas Mettioui, Manoel Dupont, Armel Roussel and Laura Bachman. At the same time, he is involved in training programmes such as ELAN, a school for equal opportunities in dance, at the CN D in Lyon. Habib Ben Tanfous has been selected to take part in AEROWAVES Spring Forward 2024, a European programme to discover emerging dance talent. His next project, Orchestre vide, Longing for You, will be premiered in April 2026.
