Writing residency

The CN D hosts and accompanies a writing residency organized by the Seine-Saint-Denis department: "Écrivain-e-s en Seine-Saint-Denis". The residency will enable writer Hélène Giannecchini to immerse herself in the resources of the CND and to have a dialogue with its many audiences and actors. Her writing project will be the basis for a performance/conference on the notion of the queer body. Dance has always been one of the preferred means of expression for these bodies, which are sometimes deemed extraordinary. The ten-month residency will be devoted to writing this text and to meeting and exchanging ideas with the CN D's public. Several mediation actions are envisaged: conferences, debates, meetings, writing workshops, etc.

During her residency, Hélène Giannecchini will be holding a literary salon once a month.

How do you manage to work, how do you organise your time, how do you find a residency, how do you write an application, how do you do a workshop, how do you prepare a manuscript, how do you organise your proof-reading, how do you find economic strategies for writing, how do you get an office, and so on? Writing is not just a question of inspiration: it is also made up of material realities. As part of her residency at the Centre National de la Danse, writer Hélène Giannecchini has set up a monthly office to answer all the questions we don't dare ask.
