& Essential Information

Performance requirements

— All performance programs will be created and provided to you on the day of the performance based on the information you provide below. That is, the number, order, and placement of the pieces you will perform within the overall duration of the event will be curated by the John Cage Trust.

— Note that you will be located adjacent to other performers and that there will be inevitable sound clashes, which is part of the anarchic nature of the piece.

— There is no rehearsal, only a location check during the evening of Friday 27 Sepember which will bring together all participants at CN D. Performers are required to arrive at the CN D no later than 1 p.m. for instructions and set-up.

— Each performer can only be part of one group. You can be part of an ensemble, a duo, a solo. Your placement within the venue will be determined based in part on the size of your unit.

Please note that in accordance with John Cage’s Musicircus ethos this event is free of charge to the public and that participants take part on a voluntary basis.
