MC93 — maison de la culture de Seine-Saint-Denis, Bobigny

For the second edition of plan D, the CN D is collaborating with the MC93. Christian Rizzo, associate artist at the CN D in 2025 and 2026, will present his new piece à l’ombre d’un vaste détail, hors tempête. The first weekend will also feature workshops and performances, including the solo Nebula, created and performed by Vania Vaneau, built like a ritual around the motif of metamorphosis.

After two soli presented at the CN D, Notte, in 2021, and Rideau, in 2022, Anna Massoni created Retrouvailles inespérées, exploring the idea of a “solo for two”. Michael Turinsky will present his work in France for the first time with his solo Precarious Moves, which questions how the body is set in motion when its relationship with its environment is fundamentally vulnerable. It also puts into perspective the prevailing expectations about ableism and mobility. Last but not least, Calixto Neto's Bruits marrons will create a performative and communal device around the music of Julius Eastman.

This program highlights certain motifs, including text and the notion of narrative. Through different approaches, we will explore what this material can do to performance and dance. These different projects are also permeated by, or even constructed around, the question of gesture in its relationship to space, music, light, text and sometimes voices. Gestures play a part in the fragile encounter between the work and its audience. This fragility is at the heart of creation, but also of each and every one of us. It is the acceptance of this fragility that opens up the aesthetic, sensitive and political dialogue with these choreographic pieces.
