Conflictual embraces – creating a dialogue of emotions
This workshop is based on the creation process of the piece Cocagne (2018), whose source lies in the work of Georges Didi-Huberman, Peuples en larmes, peuples en armes (2016), in which he considers the notion of “conflictual embraces”, as the association in a single gesture of an intention and its contrary. Exploring the states of contradictory bodies through certain rhythmic and/or formal paradoxes. Emmanuelle Vo-Dinh is a choreographer of phenomena – be they social, physiological, psychological or mechanical. Male/female relationships, as well as more formal research into the relations between bodies, music and voices, have marked her work since 2007. She has directed Le Phare – CCN du Havre since 2012.
