“Dance is guided by the elasticity of respiratory movements. By giving themselves all the necessary time really to feel this, dancers understand that breathing and cellular respiration allow them to transfer their weight continuously, millimetre by millimetre, while remaining totally in balance. So it is that this dance is born from an imbrication: from the time that performers give themselves to effect it; from a knowledge of the distribution of weights and counter-weights, so as to move without tension; and from amplitude and respiratory fluidity. These three aspects and their interweaving create a dance conceived from the idea of a perpetual shifting.” Myriam Gourfink
