Transmitting, sharing, sensitising: multiple approaches to mediation

22.06.18 — 10:00

CN D Pantin

Camping is offering, for professionals, a day of reflection about mediation practices. Observing the pedagogies in use in artistic and cultural education programmes, putting into perspective the means of transmission in terms of other fields of knowledge, and questioning each performer’s postures are the objectives of this discussion time. Transmitting, sensitising, sharing, educating and training are just some of the verbs that drive the work of artists and mediators. The ways in which art can be encountered are there to be invented, analysed, and constantly brought into play depending on the forms of knowledge that are being mobilised, the publics being addressed, and the frameworks of each encounter. During the 20th century, the contributions of the sciences of education, cognition and psychology profoundly transformed the understanding of the issue and action of learning. As a result, the point is now to
examine our educative actions, so as to invent tomorrow’s practices. This study day will provide a historical view of educational theories and pedagogical currents, so as to place them alongside the various ways that mediators and artists work. Talks, workshops and
narrated experiences will punctuate this day of research.
With Sylvain Fabre, researcher into educational sciences, Silvia Soter, professor of educational sciences at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, and pedagogical manager at Maré School, and Lucie Boissinot, artistic and educational director of the École de Danse Contemporaine de Montréal.
