DANCE SO WE DON’T DISAPPEAR

“In this workshop, we will imagine salvation dances to survive together. Repetition, insistence, and overflow will serve as vibrant strategies to cherish our movements and put them to the test in different situations. How can a movement leave behind residual energy that gives rise to new movements? Which gestures from my personal archive resist time and oblivion? What constitutes transgression in this act of resistance? These shared days will be conceived as a physical playground that seeks to weave links between imagination, voice, music, and dance, in order to test together ways of shaking up our pasts, our feelings, and our desires. Through contagion, copying, and transmission, we will attempt to collectively invent other possibilities, overflowing and chaotic. The transformation of gesture will be our form of resistance. Because to dance is to transform, and to transform is forever.” Lucía García Pullés
