Rébecca Chaillon is a director, performer and author, a member of the RER Q collective and a Scorpio, Taurus rising. She fights like she breathes, loves to debate and perform naked. Her family is the Dans le Ventre company. With the support of Rodrigo Garcia, she has been working since 2014 on performative shows where she is on stage, alone, with 2 or 11 people, but always there. To tackle systems of domination through women’s soccer as in Où la chèvre est attachée, il faut qu’elle broute or write an Afro-futurist tale where black women are at the center in Carte noire nommée désir. Rébecca Chaillon loves to talk about desires, hungers, violence and bodies with love, humor and nourishment. She is an associate artist at La Manufacture in Nancy and at the Pôle européen de création – campus Amiens Valenciennes, represented by L’Arche for her writing and accompanied by L’Œil Écoute for her company work.

Performing intimacy
“Using our body as a map to be captioned, to be inscribed in an even larger territory. Using skin, limbs, curves, fluids like so many hollows and bumps in which we hike. It’s both difficult and pleasurable. Having fun with the things that grow and regrow in and around us. And, if possible, to make political fiction out of our intimacy, writing ourselves live with vulnerability and omnipotence. A story within history. To paint the world around us, to map it using the tools of writing, performance and all the knowledge we possess, noble and ignoble.”
