Dominique Jégou trained at the CNDC in Angers, and has worked with Dominique Bagouet, Trisha Brown, Boris Charmatz and Emmanuelle Huynh. Since 1995, he has been composing his own pieces. He was assistant to Catherine Legrand for the re-creation of Dominique Bagouet's So schnell, and to Emmanuelle Huynh for Nuée.
