CN D Pantin

6 battles followed by a conversation between the artists and the audience

Battles are the essence of hip-hop culture, and they symbolize the act of outdoing oneself and one another while sharing the experience of dance. The CN D proposes participants to share this experience in collaboration with the new generation of hip-hop dancers. David Bérillon, head of the hip-hop division curriculum in the lycée Turgot in Paris, will be the master of ceremony. He will present 12 dancers who specialize in the three emblematic styles of hip-hop culture: breaking, popping and locking. It will be an opportunity to listen to these young artists explain what drives them and ask them about the styles of dance they specialize in.

Created in 2016, the hip-hop sports class at Lycée Turgot is a unique educational and artistic excellence program in France and Europe. This academic project is part of a process of cultural and artistic pedagogical innovation supported by the Rectorat de Paris and the Inspection Académique.
