“Scope, corpus, methods. A scholarly perspective on notation systems”

At the turn of the 1980’s and 1990’s in France, movement notation developed along the introduction of dance as an academic discipline. As curricula specializing in notation were created (in the Paris conservatory for example), a critical and reflexive outlook was developed among expert practitioners, as some started on scholarly investigations in that field. This afternoon will be devoted to a research session bringing together notation experts to discuss questions of scope, corpus and method.
