Simone Mousset

Simone Mousset is a Luxembourgish dance artist based between London, Luxembourg, and France. Recipient in 2017 of the Lëtzebuerger Danzpräis, she is currently associate artist at The Place in London and Escher Theater in Luxembourg, and accompanied by the Fondation Cléo Thiberge Edrom in France. Her company is supported by the Luxembourgish Ministry of Culture. She trained in London at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, the Royal Academy of Dance, and the London Contemporary Dance School. She develops her work in conversation with venues such as The Place, Escher Theater, Grand Théâtre du Luxembourg, Trois C-L Centre de Création Chorégraphique Luxembourgeois, KLAP Maison pour la danse, Les Hivernales – CDCN d’Avignon, CN D Lyon, and others. Spanning dance, theatre, performance, visual art, drawing, and writing, her practice revolves around the uncertain, the messy, the unresolved, and explores spaces that relate to not-knowing.

The workshop focuses on singing at the heart of a choreographic process. In conversation with a playful physical-theatrical world that will be anchored in Simone Mousset's current project Empire of a Faun Imaginary, participants can expect a space for creative freedom as they are invited to be adventurous in their voice-work – choreographically, in compositional tasks, in improvisations, through text, movement, karaoke, and so on.
