Dance and urban transformation
What if choreographic art had a planning function?

This workshop will be led by Julie Desprairies in Buers neighborhood, in the spaces where her creation Sœurs will have taken place (Insa-Lyon, Maison de la danse).
It is open to professional dancers, to people working in the fields of architecture, urban planning and urban development, to students of conservatories and teaching structures interested in these issues.
For over 20 years, Julie Desprairies has been creating site-specific projects, in connection with a territory, a building, a landscape. Always involving and immersive, her creations give rise to staged architectures, journeys in the city, the countryside or the forest, films, parties or exhibitions. In the context of the creation Sisters in the Buers district (Villeurbanne), the choreographer proposes a workshop to art students and professional dancers, in the public space.

This workshop will be followed by a meeting at 3pm in the Amphitheatre of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Lyon, open to all on the links between choreography and urban planning, at a time when many artists are involved in the process of transforming the city.
