Serge Aimé Coulibaly’s dance is an act of engagement. His numerous collaborations, notably with Alain Platel or Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, have offered him a space to confront and assert his identity. Without ever losing a sensuality that has its roots in his native Burkina Faso, in his productions he questions realities and explores themes that resonate on all continents. Since the creation of his company, Faso Danse Théâtre, in 2002, Serge Aimé Coulibaly has forged an original practice, oriented towards humanity, diversity and tolerance. Through the power of his art, he proposes to find that liberating momentum that enables each one of us to put our best foot forward.

The political body
Serge Aimé Coulibaly proposes to approach the political body through the repertoire of his company. For several years now he has been developing a dance vocabulary based on a complex composition, playing on oppositions in movement, fragility and inner violence. Along with the workshop participants, he will address the urgency of what needs to be expressed today, both with his body and in the relationship to space.

Prior dance experience required.
